I love orchestral music. I am living in Ecuador and will be based here for the next few years. All of my music education is grade school and high school; I am a long way off from being qualified to be a fellow!I admire the the purposes and people of El Sistema and would love to be a part of it wherever I go.I noticed that an early part of El Sistema is voice and choir! Wonderful: our primary instrument: our voices! And there is nothing to buy other than, sooner or later, perhaps some sheet…See More

El Sistema in Ecuador?

I am in Guayaquill, in love with orchestral music, but not anywhere near qualified to be in the fellowship. I would like to participate with anyone who is interested in getting started with something here. El Sistema is profound. I am proud to be any part of it.See More

How did you learn about El Sistema?
The Calendar section of the LA Times a few years ago.
Are you affiliated with an El Sistema inspired program? If so, explain how you contribute.
No I am not.

Living in Guayaquill, Ecuador, what is being done in this country.

I am from the US; living in Guayaquill and engaged to an Ecuadorian. I played tuba and trombone in school orchestras but have not played for years. I love orchestral music; particularly strings.

I know that there is some classical music being performed in Guayaquil and in Quito, but I do not know if there is anyone working on an El Sistema program.

I would love to contribute. Right now it would be in terms of communication, rather than finance.

Thank you for putting this site here! I look forward to collaboration.
